WAKE Up and Read Book Drive

Date: January 22, 2018 Author: Kenya Ford Categories: News

The goal of the 2018 Book Drive is to collect 110,000 books by March 3, 2018.  These books will be distributed to over 7,700 children in 10 elementary schools, 17 early education centers, and community centers for summer reading.

Will you sign up to collect books?  We invite businesses, civic groups, individuals, and faith communities to collect books for WAKE Up and Read.  Sign up to host a collection site by clicking here.  When you sign up, we will be able to send you updates on the collection process.

We need volunteers who will receive books that are donated, sort books, and box them to get them ready to send out to the elementary schools and childcare facilities. For more information and to sign up to volunteer click here.

Our book sorts are at Cary Towne Center.  We are located in a storefront on the Walnut Street side of the mall and to the left of the mall entrance across from LensCrafters.

The WAKE Up and Read Tool Kit provides resources to help individuals and groups run a successful book drive. Click this link to access the  2018 WUAR Tool Kit.
