WAKE Up and Read Book Drive

Date: January 22, 2018 Author: Kenya Ford Categories: News

We are in need of new and gently used picture, short chapter, and non-fiction books for children ages kindergarten to fifth grade. Books can be dropped off at Cary Towne Center* during the following times:

*We are located on the Walnut Street side of Cary Towne between Belks and Vision Works.

Once again this year we’ve collected books, sorted and boxed them, and now we are ready for a very exciting part of our work — it is time to set up the books in book fair style at the elementary schools and to assist children with choosing their books.

In order for the book fairs to be successful we need community volunteers to assist with book set up and on the days children are selecting books.

Letterland Day at Pullen Park

Letterland Day at Pullen Park will be on Saturday, April 28th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  We need your help to make the April 28th event a huge success.  To ensure that all families and children have a fun, safe day, we need volunteers to monitor/run the activities.  Each of the activities is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.

Volunteers would need to stay for at least three hours and arrive 30-35 minutes prior to their scheduled time to review procedures.  There will be designated parking for volunteers.

Thank you for helping to bring Letterland Day to Pullen Park!
