Increasing the number of books in a child’s home has a positive impact on their literacy development Partners help build home libraries by providing books at programs and events. Help students in your community build home libraries!
EMPOWER PARENTS
Promote Parent Powered. Encourage the families of the children in your programs to sign up for this free, text message program that is available for parents and caregivers of babies and children up to 10 years old. Text messages are available in multiple languages and provide facts, tips, and activities that are fun and easy to do at home.
I AM A READER
Watch the I Am A Reader campaign. Much of the action of the coalition happens behind the scenes. Teams work together on the following priorities:
- 1) Ensuring children enter Kindergarten School Ready.
- 2) Providing access to high-quality learning opportunities
- 3) Engaging families as partners.
